Ruang & Tempo Launches Library Coffee with Marjin Kiri, Bringing Literacy to Coworking Spaces

Jakarta, September 15, 2025Ruang & Tempo officially launched Library Coffee powered by Marjin Kiri, a new literacy space that combines a coworking environment with a curated selection of independent books. Featuring more than 20 handpicked titles, Library Coffee offers visitors a place to work, read, discuss, and even purchase books to enrich their personal collections.

As its inaugural activation, Ruang & Tempo hosted a book discussion on “Denyut Nadi Bumi: Geologi Politik di Jawa” (The Earth’s Pulse: Political Geology in Java). The session featured Adam Bobbette (author and political geography researcher), Favega Syafira Putri (journalist and writer), and Faqih Akbar (Community Coordinator, Kok Bisa).

Attended by 53 participants—including students, academics, researchers, and community members—the discussion sparked lively exchanges on the intersection of geology, politics, and social dynamics in Java.

The event was part of Open Initiatives Day (OID), a collaborative program that connects ideas and opportunities across disciplines. It was made possible through partnerships with Marjin Kiri as book curator, Kok Bisa as program partner, and Jakarta Book Party as community partner, with Ruang & Tempo serving as both venue and creative ecosystem facilitator.

Library Coffee is more than a reading corner—it’s a living space for collaboration and curiosity,” said a representative from Ruang & Tempo. “We want to make literature part of everyday creative life—something you can enjoy while working, connecting, or just taking a break.

Beyond being a reading space, Library Coffee will host a series of future activations, including book-to-film screenings, writing and public speaking workshops, and community gatherings. All initiatives align with Ruang & Tempo’s vision as a coworking, media, and creative hub—a place where ideas meet, grow, and inspire meaningful experiences for both visitors and members.

With the launch of Library Coffee, Ruang & Tempo invites communities, creators, and the public to make this space a meeting point for ideas, literacy, and collaboration.
