That’s why Ruang& positions itself as a Placemaking Enabler, rethinking spaces so they become living ecosystems where work, life, and collaboration thrive together.

The Beginning of a Placemaking Enabler
We started in 2018 as Ruang&Tempo, a media hub connecting creators and changemakers from the media and creative industries.
That year, we realized that space is more than just a place, it's a meeting point for ideas.
Through initiatives like Ruang Kelas, Ruang Perempuan, Ruang Hijau, Ruang Rehat, and Ruang Sastra, we've built a community of thought and collaboration, partnering with 1000 Startups, Techsauce, Menjadi Manusia, Startup Weekend Indonesia, BEKUP, and universities like Atmajaya, UPH, and ITS.

Expanding Collaborations
In 2019, we expanded our ecosystem through new partnerships with Kumpul, Kok Bisa, Telusuri, and Ziliun.
Each collaboration became a common thread that strengthened our creative network, growing, learning, and experimenting together.

When the world came to a standstill, we found strength in connection.
In collaboration with SILANG, we explored new ways to work together, proving that even across distance, warmth and creativity can thrive.

Strengthening Foundations
In 2021, a new tenancy with the Asosiasi Media Siber Indonesia strengthened our foundation as a collaborative platform for media, communities, and public dialogue.
Building Ecosystems
2022 marks our evolution into a collaborative ecosystem through two new hubs:
Entrepreneur Hub: Growpreneur by BRI at SMESCO Indonesia, a partnership with Bank BRI, empowering growing MSMEs.
Agro Hub: BRIWORK in Bogor, a partnership with IPB and BRI, developing innovation in the agricultural sector.
Nurturing Growth
Our centers are increasingly active through incubation and empowerment programs.
Together with KWI, we launched OMKPreneur in Labuan Bajo and Makassar, expanding our empowerment spirit to Eastern Indonesia.

Through Open Coworking Day, we opened our doors wider than ever before.
Over three days, more than 30+ communities and companies gathered to discuss Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Creative Democracy, a celebration of openness and shared ideas.

Evolving the Movement
From Open Coworking Day grew Open Initiatives Day—a year-round movement connecting over 100+ partners across sectors.
This year, we proudly joined BRI's Growpreneur Talks at BRI UMKM EXPORT 2025, continuing our shared journey of empowering local entrepreneurs to make a global impact.
We also launched the Startup Hub: SMESCO Integrated Startup Hub, in collaboration with SMESCO Indonesia, as a platform for Indonesian startups to grow and connect.
