Open Initiatives Presents "VC's Speed to Seed" with BRI Ventures at the Smesco Integrated Startup Hub
Jakarta, 8 July 2025 — Open Initiatives Day was once again held at the SMESCO Integrated Startup Hub, this time presenting its flagship program titled “VC’s Speed to Seed.” The event was attended by 49 participants and featured Bima Setiadji, Head of Investment & Synergy at BRI Ventures, who provided broader access for MSMEs and early-stage startups to gain direct insights into the venture capital funding process.
From the opening session, participants were guided to understand the essential foundations of the fundraising journey, including how venture capital firms operate, data readiness and business traction prior to pitching, and strategies for building businesses aligned with 2025 investment trends. BRI Ventures emphasized that funding is not merely about securing capital, but about building long-term partnerships based on sustainability and growth potential.
The core momentum of the event took place during the Speed to Seed session, where participants were given the opportunity to directly present their business challenges and potential to representatives of BRI Ventures. This fast-paced and interactive format created an open, practical dialogue and offered new perspectives on collaboration opportunities. Many participants acknowledged gaining insights that are rarely found in conventional discussion forums.
As part of the Open Initiatives Day series, this program reinforced the role of the SMESCO Integrated Startup Hub as a collaborative space that connects entrepreneurs with strategic networks, including financial ecosystems, incubators, and professional mentors. This collaboration aligns with efforts to support SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through expanded access to capital and strengthened business capacity.
With the successful implementation of “VC’s Speed to Seed,” Open Initiatives Day reaffirmed its commitment to delivering programs that not only broaden knowledge but also create tangible opportunities for startups and MSMEs to grow faster, become more prepared, and generate greater impact within Indonesia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
